Building Landing Pages for International Mobile
International offers are the way to go if you are running on a tight budget. You can get started with as little at $100 and you can be profitable if done right. If done correctly, landing page will give you a massive boost in conversions and ROI. Once I've developed a profitable INTL mobile campaign via direct linking, I switch from direct linking to a landing page! I've nearly doubled by CVR's after building a targeted landing page, so it's a must for any publisher serious about pulling in the big bugs. Landing pages for international and domestic are more or less the same, you might have to adjust the page accordingly to add some local relevance and the obvious translations. For translations, if you're looking to get a lot of work done at an ultra-cheap rate affordably, check out Fiverr.com. Believe it or not you can get ultra-accurate work done for about .01c a word verses OneHourTranslation.com's .07c a word. (Yes, I found this out by myself and I know you're going to bust my balls for being cheap - but you don't get to the top by overspending!)
Promoting International IQ Offers
The trick with IQ has always been getting a massive CTR: refer to our previous guide about creating profitable adcopy and images to get started. In our experience, we've had the most luck from IQ landing pages but don't ignore all the other types of offers we have internationally as well. Due to more lax mobile compliance, there are some really crazy landing pages that give away free products, offer x-ray scanners, horoscope related and a wide array of unique deals. Don't always go with the same offers your fellow EWA affiliates will be promoting and you can make some of the biggest profit with the strangest demographics (for example: celebrity related offers work great with female demographics whereas x-ray vision mobile deals dominate with the male demographic for obvious reasons).
Landing Page Elements:
- International Mobile Can Be iFramed - Most of our international mobile offers can be iframed as long as you show the terms of service! It's best to get approval from your account manager before doing it, but allowing you to iframe the offer gives you far more creative control. You can build the entire landing page template around the desired offer!
- The Country's Flag - Adding this simple element localizes the campaign and makes it more relevant for the international demographic you are targeting.
- Facebook's Logo - Adding the branding will make the visitor feel safe and secure: prime them to fill out the offer.
- Facebook's Font, Text, Layout Effects - Building pages that almost look like they are part of Facebook help the campaigns performance because it makes the consumer feel like they are still within Facebook, making them more willing to fill out a campaign. This is a classic media buying technique that works with a bunch of different niches outside mobile as well.
- Profile pictures from Facebook - Build a landing page that shows examples of other people that participated in the mobile IQ quiz. Make a competition out of it (ex: who has the highest IQ?)!
- Keep it simple - A simple flow from top to bottom, don't go overboard when you make your landing page because it may confuse the consumer more than they need. Direct all attention to the mobile offer and make sure the elements around it don't distract too much!
- Make a simple flow - Make the content flow from the top to the bottom. Don't have a button on step 1 that says, "Click Here Now." Instead, tell the user what he has to do and finally have to button. Be up front with the visitor - it works far better with this niche.
Promoting International Mobile Ringtones
Promoting ringtones is rather unique from the other types of mobile landing pages. You can use polls or quizzes - both work great. With polls, you put one artist against the other and tell the user that he can get a ringtone if he casts his vote. At the final page, redirect to the offer page. Make sure that the offer page does not have additional questionnaires, it if does, tailor your landing page accordingly. With quizzes, all you need to do is add around 5 questions, all multiple choice. Use radio buttons for the answers and forget about them! The final button that says submit answers should send them to the offer page. We really don't care if they got it right, all we want is that subscription for the ringtone! Always keep the ad copy simple, don't overcrowd it with info. The simpler the better. Obviously if you are promoting internationally localize the questions, use pictures of local celebrities and other elemends that are unique for that country. Do your research using this magical tool called "Google."
