Increase Image CTRs with Social Traffic
Social users have evolved. They have been desensitized to the generic ads, which has lead to a decline in CTR's. However, with the massive consumer base that social sites have, it is hardly time to jump ship. The following fundamentals will help you reach your audience and revitalize stagnant CTR's. Grabbing the user's attention is first and foremost. If the ad never captures their focus, then it does not matter how great your catchphrase is or what the subject matter is, the CTR is still going to plummet. While I am sure you have tested many images and found some that are moderately effective, the image itself might not be your problem. Lots of advertisers cycle through different images, but if you have one that works, why change it?
Sometimes simple is better. Keep that converting image but give it a neon border. When everything on the page layout is bland, the human eye will automatically jump to the neon colors. The border does not have to be gaudy or consume half of your image, even relatively thin neon colors will draw the user's attention. Already have your banner pimped with a neon border? Add some imperfection; the human mind is constantly searching for this. When everything on the page is perfectly formatted and symmetrical, a slightly tilted image will register as an imperfection and the user's curiosity will be triggered.
These seemingly minimal alterations go a long way towards increasing your ad's visibility. Visibility on Facebook and PoF is critical when the user is being bombarded with information left and right. With such a vast consumer base, there are tons of people who would be interested in your ad if they actually saw it. So give your ad a unique image, something that provokes their imagination, and then profit; it is as simple as that.
