We have been promoting games to our affiliates for months now and it's one of the strongest verticals that we carry on our network. Promoting game deals is completely unique in itself and the potential is huge! There are two types of games that we have listed in our system, the ones prefixed with "Games" are CPL's and the ones prefixed with "Download" that obviously require an install to get the conversion. GameVance, PlaySushi, Travian, NeoSteam and Dark Orbit are some of the strongest games that we have.
Game offers have wide appeal, great conversion rates and are often times available in international markets so you can duplicate & translate your converting campaigns into many countries. For PPV publishers, try direct linking these network your working with). Any online flash game site works well with these offers and it seems like there is an unlimited supply of these sites out there. Are you ballin' on a budget? That's no problem with games either! Skip wide targeting of arcade sites and select specific games within the sites as target. Target the flash games that are similar to the game that you're direct linking. If your targeting a flash puzzle game, forward them to an associated GameVance or PlaySushi puzzle download - your CVR's will be out the roof. If you find a successful flash game converter search up the name of the flash game in Google and pull all the results into your target list - most games get passed around like a cheap whore.
If you really want to blow these offers out it's time to try some new traffic sources. If you remember the direct site media buying guide we released this Fall - put that into action (if you have not seen that yet contact your account manager and we will share it with you). The same arcade sites that you used as targets for PPV are get targets for dirt cheap direct buys - the webmasters than run them barely get anything for their traffic. Write up a short form email and contact as many webmasters as possible and you will get some responses. If your on the 4 hour work week like us, outsource the job. If your contacting a larger flash site try buying in a specific category of theirs (ie: puzzle games) and you can score some killer CPM's.
If your not into the whole contacting webmaster task, all is not lost! There are plenty of self-serve networks that you can try including MegaClick. EWA has been using MegaClick internally for months now to promote game and download offers with great results. They serve ads on MegaVideo and MegaUpload - two sites with massive traffic. Game offers work best on MegaUpload (considering they're already downloading something), but we have had moderate success with video display too. Almost any game works well here, just make the most obnoxious creative possible to drive your CTR's up.
Another killer place for game offers is Mochi Media Self Serve - a display network that shows your ads directly inside of thier game network. Mochi only accepts 300x250 creative's on the self serve network and you can only spend $5,000/month before moving to their full network, but it's well worth it. You can select niche-specific game inventory so you can hyper target your offers to a similar offer. The ads are displayed in a way that encourages the user to engage the ad so you can expect insane CTR's around 2%+ with correct targeting.
