Promoting Mobile IQ Quiz Offers on Media Buys and PPV
One of our largest verticals are mobile offers - EWA has well over 500 in our inventory covering 65 countries. Promoting mobile deals is very different from other niches because your dealing with quantity rather than quality (of clicks). If you think about it, nobody is really looking to take an IQ quiz, they just see an advertisement and decide spur of the moment. With that in mind, you need to aim for the highest CTR possible with your banners / landers. Your goal as an affiliate is to get thousands of clicks and impressions, earning massive profits in changes in .01c EPC's.
When promoting this on PPV, try building flashy landers based on popular trends. Musicians, movies, TV shows, and sports are all easy topics to build creatives around. Challenge the user directly in the advertisement with related headline text; being aggressive in the adcopy will get you a higher CTR. Once you create your landing page, cultivate a list of URL targets based around the trend your targeting. Don't expect to make money if your target list is any less than 500 URL's - your goal is to capture traffic sources that don't already have saturation from your competitors. When you launch your campaign, be sure to watch each target closely to optimize off bad ones. Be willing to extend 3x the CPA to test each target - this is not for marketers scared of losing a couple bucks. To make money breaking into a new niche, you need to lose money - accept it or find a new industry.
When promoting this via direct site buys or media buying exchanges the methology is different. Instead of targeting trends like you do above, you need to create banners utilizing techniques for the highest CTR possible. Use various image objects that would convince the user to click the ad like play buttons, optical illusions, flashing banners and other animations. Optimizing your banners is the biggest challenge with this, but the hours of optimization will lead to riches you cant imagine. When browsing around on the internet, pay attention to every advertisment and deprogram the methology behind it.
